Here at the National Co-operative Archive we hold over 50,000 photographs that show all aspects of the co-operative movement from old Co-op shops to member activities. Some of the most interesting ones show people working in the CWS factories.
The CWS had factories all over the country that manufactured goods to be sold in the Co-op shops. The photographs give a fascinating insight into the types of jobs people used to do from testing eggs to putting bristles on brushes!
Can you work out the jobs being carried out in these photographs? Did you or your relatives work for the CWS in one of its factories? If so get in touch and see if we have any photographs of where you worked!
